Established in 2012, the festival is part of Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council’s strategy to promote the borough, by showcasing its arts and cultural organisations alongside the wealth of community organisations engaged in a broad range of cultural pursuits. The festival also highlights some of the unique borough locations, highlighting its history, cultural facilities and its outstanding green spaces.

The festival has the potential to attract additional funding, sponsorship and income to boost the cultural offering in the borough. In 2015 the festival attracted nearly £40,000 funding from the Arts Council England, alongside the borough council’s support. As the festival has grown, it has attracted regional and national arts activity, and we are keen to gain international attractions that will not only stimulate partnerships within the local arts scene, but also provide expanded opportunities to residents and businesses.
