Experience the magic of the movies in the War Memorial Park this summer.
Three fantastic film musicals will be broadcast on a big screen under the stars as part of Basingstoke Festival 2019’s Pictures in the Park programme.
When the light fades – around 9pm each evening – audiences will be treated to a very special outdoor cinematic experience right in the heart of the town.
On Thursday 4 July, raise your hands in the air to clap along to the music of Queen as featured in the 2018 box office smash hit Bohemian Rhapsody (12A), starring a Golden Globe-winning Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury. The film, which has also been nominated for five Oscars including Best Picture and Best Actor, has become the highest-grossing biopic of all time at the box office.
Gates will open at 7.30pm on each evening. Tickets will be £10 plus booking fee. Limited deckchair seating is available for £15 plus booking fee.
The Cabinet member responsible for arts and heritage councillor Terri Reid said: “These evenings in the park are always an incredibly popular part of the Basingstoke Festival programme and they sell out quickly.
“The atmosphere is wonderful as people come together and gather in the park to laugh, cry and sing together. I would certainly recommend booking your tickets early!”
