Basingstoke Festival 2021

Buskers

Basingstoke Town Centre

As the shops and restaurants re-open around our town centre, the shopping streets in Basingstoke will be a different place as social distancing measures are implemented meaning that shoppers may have to queue to enter shops. In order to create some atmosphere and help shoppers pass the time as they wait, Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council are looking for street performers to perform at our Busk Stops.

We are looking for buskers and street performers aged 14+ years and upwards (performers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult) to take to the streets and entertain passers-by every Saturday and Sunday throughout the summer. Individuals and groups are welcome. Performers can collect donations in the normal way (although you can’t sell anything like CD’s or merchandise). There are 4 designated Busk Stop areas in the town and when you sign up you will allocated a space and time to perform. You will be providing entertainment to passers-by. All performers have the right to busk in outside areas in Basingstoke, but we are offering to co-ordinate your decision to busk at one of our official busk-stops.

This is a great opportunity for you to showcase yourself to Basingstoke residents and visitors, and help create a positive vibe as we welcome people back into the town. We will share your information and performance across our social media channels.

To express your interest, and to receive a copy of our Buskers Code of Conduct, please email festival@basingstoke.gov.uk
